Piano Scales – Another View
In this visual of piano scales you will see that all the scales in the area
of the two black keys and F major - C, Db, D, Eb, E, F - have similar
characteristics and all the scales in the area of the three black keys --
G, Ab, A, Bb, B – have similar characteristics and Gb (F#) is different.
For the scales in the area of the two black keys -- C, Db, D, Eb, E, F –
notes 1, 2, 3 form the same shape as notes 5, 6, 7 and note 4 is odd.
For the scales in the area of the three black keys – G, Ab, A, Bb, B –
notes 1, 2, 3 form the same shape as notes 4, 5, 6 and note 7 is odd.
For Gb (F#) notes 2, 3, 4 form the same shape as notes 5, 6, 7 and note 1 is odd.
